I am currently charging the lower limit of what Substack allows me to charge for my newsletter, but if I move this operation over to my personal website, I can theoretically charge whatever I like. I also could potentially earn more money for my writing if a sufficiently large amount of people were willing to sign up for a lower cost; e.g. if I halved the cost to sign up but my number of paid subs more than doubles, I earn more.

At the same time, I would like to value my work for what I feel it’s worth, and if lowering my price would only result in a tiny handful of more people joining, then it likely won’t be worth it for me financially; I use this money to buy groceries and such, after all, not to mention to support my friend in Gaza.

I’d love to have more of you join the paid version, so if you’d be more willing to support my work if it were even fewer dollars per month, please let me know! Also, feel free to discuss in the comments below. This change wouldn’t be happening until weeks or months from now, but I’m planning ahead!
