Hello, readers! Instead of a written essay, this week I have a video essay for you! I’m making my YouTube debut with a longform piece about artificial intelligence.
Is Generative AI really helping education, or hurting it? What is the impact of Gen AI on society so far? How can we take an abolitionist approach to academic dishonesty? I truly feel as though the things most people critique AI for aren’t the things that matter the most. I’ve written about AI plenty of times before, but clocking in at 41 minutes, this essay is the synthesis of everything I have to say about the subject. Enjoy!!
By the way, people who shell out for the paid edition of my newsletter got exclusive early access to the script for this video a few weeks ago! If you want even more insight into my upcoming projects, consider signing up for a monthly ($5) or yearly ($50) subscription. Currently, all my income from this goes to helping Ghazal and her family survive the humanitarian crisis in Gaza; in other words, your donations are going toward food, shelter, and hopefully the change to flee once the Egyptian border reopens. Someone signed up for annual subscription in August, meaning that today we sent $150 to Ghazal! :’)
Thank you SO much to my subscribers for making this happen! This will surely make her day!
See you next week for more sweet, sweet content!
