Two weekends ago, at the height of mental anguish from being perpetually overworked over the course of several months, I pursued my romantic fantasy of escaping into the woods and “getting away from it all”. I booked a four-day long weekend at an Airbnb cabin with no electricity or running water, packed up some camping supplies (mostly meals that only required a propane stove to put together), drove two hours north to capital-r Rural Vermont, and got to experience 72 consecutive hours of Nature!
….It was fine. Not terrible, but not great either. Let me explain.
