There’s no “correct” way to engage with art, but there sure are wrong ways.
This week, I’d like to put three pieces of media in conversation with one another: Chappell Roan’s two videos about fan harassment, CJ the X’s video essay about online entitlement, and Tyler, The Creator’s Maverick interview. All of these opinions pieces are from artists I respect and they engage with the idea that certain fans are interfacing with art in a way that’s neither healthy nor conducive to the artistic experience.
